Martha Marx

Biography
Born and raised in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, I developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and the changing seasons that surrounded me. I attended the University of Wisconsin–La Crosse, where I earned a bachelor’s degree in biology and physical education, with a minor in art.
After graduation, I moved to Dallas, Texas, where I began a rewarding 36-year career teaching biology and astronomy. While education was my profession, art became my personal sanctuary. I started taking painting classes from the Creative Art Center of Dallas as a way to unwind—to relax, to explore creativity, and simply to enjoy life beyond the classroom.
Over time, painting grew from a pastime into a true passion. I began gifting my artwork to friends and family, and their encouragement inspired me to share my art with a wider audience. After retiring from teaching, I decided to dedicate myself fully to painting—capturing light, color, and emotion on canvas—and to begin selling my work through my own website.
Today, painting continues to be a joyful journey of discovery and expression, rooted in my lifelong love of nature, science, and beauty.
